The membership is broadly based, consisting of a mixture of men and women with junior membership being between the ages of 14 to 18. Through its junior policy, the club is keen to encourage those under 18.
The club has a qualified Badminton England Coach to assist any players who feel they need assistance with their badminton. The club is affiliated to the Ipswich and District Badminton League, Suffolk Badminton Association, and Badminton England.

As with all sporting clubs in Hadleigh, the club is involved in competition, with one home match being played each week between October and the end of March. The club has three teams playing in the Ipswich and District Badminton League, a Mixed in Division 5, Mens A in Division 4, and Mens B in Division 6.

The club and has flourished in the town since it was founded in 1947. The facilities used by the club up to September 1971 was the Town Hall, then the club moved to the Sports Barn at Hadleigh High School (Hadleigh High Leisure Centre) when the school first opened, where it has been to the present day. In 1974 permission was granted for the sheild of the town's Coat of Arms to be incorporated in the design of a new badge for the club, making the club unique to Hadleigh.
